I to have very close cut hair occasionally been known to bic it all the way down. Here in Arizona we have a real problem with the "nazi" skinheads so I tend to let my hair grow out when I plan on attending a concert or other function that that element might be present.

Also, since this thread has very little to do with kilts, I've moved it to Off Topic.

There's a very limited skinhead population around here. There's a lot more in Milwaukee, and some up north in Sheboygan. Not too many in Madison...too much of a bourgeois town. Skins are mostly found in the working-class towns.
The first time I met any skins was at a Dropkick Murphys show a few years ago. Great guys. They told me about other Oi! bands, and then I really got into The Business, Cockney Rejects, Sham 69, etc. I never shaved down, but I always identified with the skins, being a factory worker and whatnot.

There's not too many skins out here. Plenty of Boneheads, and several SHARPS, but my buddies and I avoid both like the plague... The sharps out here are hypocritical, ultra-violent, sexist boozers... anyway, I digress, and I don't want to get too far off topic, or too political...
I know of 4 apolitical skins in my area, myself included. For us, it's all about good friends, good music, and working class pride. I may have a white-collar desk job, and my buddy might work construction for a living, but guess what? We both take pride in the fact that we earn our money by working for it, and that's good enough for us.
Arlen, that sounds like a pretty sweet outfit. I bet it will look great.
I keep my hair at about 3/8," or a #3 guard. I've decided to let my mutton chops fill out a bit, so now I'm scissor trimming them, instead of trimming them with the clippers. It's a very old school look, very "British Skin," but it looks great with the clothes I choose (Ben Sherman polos, Dickies, dressier jackets, and either a flat cap or derby).

Like Bradley, I try to keep my hair short because of the ever exceeding thinness of it.
I do listen to a lot of Ska, Punk and Swing/Rockabilly music, though.
In my time I've worn the bovver boots and jeans.
Recently, however, I was thinking about putting together a Rockabilly kilt outfit since I don't have any zoot suits these days.
I figured a Black pinstriped Kilt, Black and red Brothel creepers, a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, red tie and red braces.
Now, experimenting with this I realised that the braces don't need to be very thick. And if you get the old style with the Y at the back they are much more comfortable with the kilt.

I always got along with the skins at ska shows. I saw a few kilts at punk shows, but never worn by skins, and no braces with a kilt. But hey--that's not to say it can't be done.

Well, genetics tells me that I am in line for inheriting early, quick, and complete baldness from my grandfather; so, I'm growing out my hair as much as possible. I'm thinking of going for the third-century Egyptian hermit monk look.
Anyway, I'm of no real help for this thread. The closest I get to punk is Weird Al and They Might Be Giants

Haha, TMBG is more punk than some people might think. Well, they have the punk spirit, anyways.
And to Crusty, there's a lot of SHARPS in Minneapolis. I haven't met any, but I know the SHARPS scene is big up there. And what you said earlier:

Exactly. We're not some trust-fund brats. We're not handed a college degree and a job by our parents. We know the value of money, we've worked of every cent. In fact, my skinhead friends are big Springsteen fans. They admit, the music isn't quite their style, but his message is spot on.
