Has anybody ever mixed it with an Ike jacket

Yup, I love Ike jackets with kilts.

I got mine at What Price Glory because they make thier replica enlisted and officer's Ike jackets in sizes large enough to fit my massive body.

Here's a pic with the officer's Ike jacket.

I also have the Royal Air Force replica battlejacket from What Price Glory.

Very pleased with the workmanship on all three and grateful for Jerry offering the large sizes.

They also have a replica Scottish War I jacket. Still pondering that one.

I chose to add insignia to honor my father's service in the Royal Air Force in 1942 and the Army Air Corps for the balance of War II. The Enlisted Ike jacket insignia honors my uncle's service in the 157th Infantry in France and Germany. His company was first into Dachau.

You can also find wool Ike jackets at law enforcement uniform suppliers. These guys are Arizona State Prison Corrections Officers.

Thanks for the info folks. I've been looking for an outdoor jacket to wear with my kilt that is short like an argyle or PC. The Ike seems to fit the bill perfectly.

Ike jackets are a great match with a kilt and since they really look better buttoned you can go without a belt since the belt would be covered anyway.

The Ike jacket and the Levi jacket are really close in style.

Both go well with the kilt.

Okay, here's a couple of current pics of the What Price Glory replica officer's Ike Jacket. They seem to be advertising the chocolate brown one now...this sure looks green to me but bought it a couple years ago.

And them are some of James MacMillan's home made traditional garter ties. Most cool. Will post a close up in the DIY dept. DIY guys just amaze me.

The local surplus shop had a mess of dark blue Swedish military Ike jackets that I drooled over. They wanted $35 for them. Thirty Five bucks. Unfortunately, not one of them was even *close* to anything I could fit into.

Casey from Clan MacNaughton here in Nor Cal has one and wears it with his Macnaughton kilt a lot. It looks great.
