Hope all goes well, and you get to go to Caprock Canyon. I know what you mean about the pannick from unplanned trips.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I highly recommend Fraser and Kirkbrights remnants page, a long weekend, a warm iron, and a sewing machine...*grin*

I've worn USA Kilts casuals WITHOUT a belt and had no problem with the velcro. Only velcro problems I've had are if I don't get it perfectly matched and some of the hook side sticks out it'll pull the wool or other material off a sweater or loose fibered garment.

    Don't forget the Body Glide!

Could'nt agree more.Ive tried probibly a couple of dozen different boots, but Timberland out does them all as for comfort and wear ability.
Just bought a new pair that will be doing a lot of hiking miles this summer.

Thinking of purchasing a SK in hunting for the same purpose.
Like the color as im not to fond of bright tartans, and this one looks good.

I like my specific Doc Martens for almost any activity. They're pricey, though.
The velcro on my SK seems pretty good.
Tommy~ May I recommend the UK in Mossy Oak? I absolutely love mine. My SK is ACU camo and is very lightweight.

Mossy Oak should keep you out of trouble in KY too! Most guys here don't know what to think of a kilt in their favorite hunting camo!
I have three UKs, with more on the Wishlist, so I'm biased. The Original model has good weight, but isn't as heavy as their Workman's. I want one of those for more intense outdoors-y stuff. Now, if I could get a Workman's in MO... 'Course I also want one in white to tiedye...

Yup, so far it's the only boot that give my toes plenty of room. Other brands have pinched and even cut into my digits.
