My cats seem to be oddly drawn to my kilts. I have the same issue. I can't leave them lying flat anywhere, or I'll come back to find two or three cats on them. Odd...

My cat always has to sit on any sewing project in process, as long as it is left unattended. The odd thing about kilt sewing projects is that she tries to sit on them even if they are NOT left unattended. Has anyone ever seen a flying cat!

My kilts are not properly broken in until there's cat hair on the apron!
Our roommates do occasionally make themselves useful by helping to press the pleats:
