I wear ties when it's appropriate. Maybe I'm "Old School", but it's too late to change now.

I guess I'm one of those 6% who wear a tie every day. Of course, I'm a lawyer, and my office doesn't have a business casual dress code for attorneys. We do have casual fridays, though, so I will wear a button down shirt and chinos, and keep a tie in the drawer in case something comes up that requires a trip to court.

I try not to wear a tie. I don't understand why it is fasionable to hang a stupid piece of cloth around your throat. I like my clothing to be comfortable and/or functional. A neck tie is neither IMO.

Just as long as you respect those of us choose to wear one and like them...

attending a LOT of weddings funerals and formal functions per year (with pipes) Im noticing this "trend" of going without ties increasing, as are general standards of formal dress, if your going to wear a suit the it look better with a tie, if your going without a jacket then tie-less looks Ok, obviously if people dont want to wear ties then its a matter of choice, however i think its a question of respect , if i go to a function or event I always wear a suit if its work related even if it means risking being over dressed, and I like ties as well !

    Things change with time.

I'm sure when the tie was coming into fashion (or whatever the tie developed from) there was a segment of the population who didn't like it.

I like ties and wear them when appropriate. With that being said I've not worn one since the Ferintosh Burns supper in January.

I wear ties randomly, whether to work or just to go hang out with my friends at the pub (hooray for being everyone's DD). I would say that functionality isn't an issue for me, but really, how functional are most of the things we wear these days?

I quite enjoy wearing ties, and will continue to wear them, regardless of societal trends.
