US Postal Service kilts would be a great way to "deliver" the message to the public that a kilt is a mail, I mean, male garment.

    Yep.
I have a Postal Blue UK Original. It's one of my very favorite Kilts. Hey why not. You have to wear the socks all the way up anyways...why not wear a kilt.

I distinctly remember seeing a picture either here or on Utilikilt's website of a mail carrier wearing a UK. It was the postal blue one and it had the dark pinstripe on the sides that perfectly matched the regular issue shorts.

As a UPS employee who has been told that he cannot wear a kilt to work, I would like to see that.

Now that would be an interesting uniform upgrade. I was glad to see mail carriers finally allowed to wear shorts so the comfort etc. of a kilt would certainly be a welcome advancement for many carriers.

The girls at my local UPS Store hit on me like crazy... if I weren't married, there would be kiltie menage in the making. First time I went in, I was wearing my saffron and returning a rented PC to The Celtic Croft. The girls gushed all over me and asked me all kinds of questions, which needless to say I answered as in as concise a manner as possible. They told me that there would be a lot of trouble if the delivery drivers were allowed to wear to wear kilts. So maybe there is a good reason behind it after all!

Brian, that's the coolest tid-bit of news I've heard in a long time. I really hope the kilt is approved. Even if only a fraction of letter carriers chose to wear a kilt on their routes it would go a long way to promote kilt wearing as a modern form of dress. Keep us updated on this please.

P.S. If you do get to wear a kilt, you've got to wear the pith helmet too. Let's face it, no other uniform could hold a candle to that.
