McMurdo
You carry it off well!
Personally, I'm no great lover of fancy lace etc, but each to his own. I get it in the neck sometimes for wearing hiking boots with my kilt by trad folks who think it's a crime!
Thinking about it, I probably just don't have the bottle to wear lace!
Once again, though, it looks really pukka!
Cheers

Glen, you make that look GREAT! I've always liked the Montrose Doublet, and you wear it to wonderful effect. Thanks for posting the pictures.

I once had a piper-colleague who purchased a Montrose outfit. He really enjoyed wearing it at formal gigs and the appearance was striking.
He did tell me the "Yeah baby, yeah!!" comments got old mighty fast though.
Slainte yall,

McMurdo, as always, you strike quite the dasing figure. Your photos were quite clear and showed the proper way to wear it. Thanks for sharing a very lucid example of proper formal dress.
In fact, I am inspired to don my own doublet and so something appropriate to the attire, but only when it cools off! July in Georgia ain't no placy for heavy wool!
