A great photo essay Glen! I'm sure Alex had a wonderful day as a brand new SOKS member.

What great pictures! Although I find the idea of the SOKS with access to a bunch of War Planes to be more than a bit scary!
Alex looks so boyish without his trademark sideburns. I'm glad he had the opportunity to meet all the good fellows of the SOKS.
Cheers

Yup, and we're hot wiring the Lanc and strafing the booze hounds of Nor-Cal. Funnily I was kidding with Wompet about how the 'Merican built planes were so bristling with guns that we couldn't show them on XMarks, in fact the B25 Mitchell had 8 of them sticking out of the nose!

...And had a huge boyish grin that he just couldn't lose after his flight in the Stearman. The deal with that was our last SOKS gathering with Dee someone suggested that "hey, wouldn't it be great if we could get Alex up in an old warbird." With the words "Alex", "flight" and "cough up some money drunken reprobates" everyone was so quick and so willing to throw in some cash to make this happen. Even those that couldn't make today made sure that they contributed. Thanks to Starbkjrus, Robthehiker, Machummel, Kilted Stuart, Canuck, Uncle Ricky & MacMoose for your generous contributions. Also a special thank you to McMurdo, not only for his contribution but also for chauffeuring our honoured guest and also for taking time out at work to produce a lovely certificate in commemoration.
Meeting new friends and old, and paying our respects to those magnificent men in their jaunty jalopies on a gloriously cloudless day it made for a wonderful Canada Day.

What are we supposed to be watching out for?! This is Grant we're talking about after all.
Seriously-looks like a grand time!
Guess I'd better go look for the Hooter's thread if I want to make anymore snide comments!
Be well,
