I do like the hose but like others have said I don't think that it goes superbly well with that kilt.

With the close up of the tartan, my opinion is the hose probably look great in person with the kilt as it will bring out the red and white stripes to the eye. I have seen the red & white hose with this tartan on a local gent and it looks great in person. The color mutations of the electronic world do not do it justice.

    A A Good look.

Diced/Argyle hose are traditionally for civilian formal wear, so they are very appropriate with the doublet and jabot.

I always associated the red and white diced hose with Black Watch (two words) ergo military. Perhaps the doublet is derived from the tunic also. Just for me, in this day and age, it's too "in yer face" for one time. That being said, I trust Glen will always be the best dressed kilty when have our gatherings.

Some diced hose I like, these included. I'm also kicking myself for not picking up the diced Maple Leaf hose when I had the chance.

I like that kilt, and I liked diced hose, but those two just don't go together very well...

In my opinion, I think diced hose go best with dark tartans. Anything Black Watch-based looks good with diced hose. Also, maybe you could try try solid red flashes with the diced hose instead of the tartan flashes.

Bradley, I don't think that is Black Watch.
