    Well among all the things I do, I am also a SCA guy, and I portray a 12th Century Hospitaller knight (hence my forum username), and so I had to make my own clothes, everything from the armor, to the gambeson, to the surcoat, to my own chain maille (55 pounds worth), etc.

    So I am familiar with measuring and sewing historical/ancient clothing.

    And I figured that after watching some of the photos of traditional kilts plus my own store bought I would start making my own.
