Southern Baptist minister here. Seeing one of us in a kilt is akin to seeing Hamish wearing Levi's.

I filled out the ULC card a while ago. I'm currently in my final year of seminary school to become a Presbyterian minister.

A priest, a rabbi and a minister walk into a kilt shop...
...just wanted to see how it sounded.

Buddhist
I am a Buddhist monk, ordained in the Drikung Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
Tomorrow I plan to wear robes but with a clargy tartan and take some students to the Stone Mountain Highland games.

One of the hats I wear is pastor of The Journey--an "ancient-future" and Celtic tinged church in Flagstaff, Arizona. I am formally ordained. I have a kilt in my clan tartan, and am trying to decide which clergy kilt to buy.

Hey, I have a Universal Life Church card too...think I got it back in the late 60s. No clue where it is....but certainly not "active" as Zardoz is.
After years of exploring various churches, listening to the door-to-door missionary pitches, and a five year stint of selling choir robes, I wound up finding "God" in a Navajo sweat lodge while a Navajo medicine man was praying fervently in words beyond my understanding.
I agree with the late "Black Wally" of AA fame in the Phoenix, Arizona area who, when asked by his family's minister why he didn't attend church with them responded, "Preacher, my work is in the field." Meaning he went out and found drunks to help get sober.
But, I digress and it was not my intention. I have the highest respect for "Sky Pilots" because where you usually see them is on the scene of death/disaster/crisis situations giving love and support to those in need.
Thanks for all you do Padres.

I too am a sky-pilot!
First of all, the calling has no mandates to this or that, either you hear the steady siren's call of wanting to help, or you don't. I myself walked into a Reglious Science Church over twenty years ago, an knew I had found a home. Currently I hold a Practioners license from the United Church, and am working on my Doctor of Divinity with them as well. Serveral years ago, I picked up an ordination from the Universal Life Church as well, as some states do not recognize the Practioners license as an ordination.
My path lead from confirmed athiest, to quizical agnostic, to an acknowleged seeker, believer and now teacher and mentor. I use the priciples of my faith in my daily life, knowing I am a better man, father and husband.
The whole point is not the paper you hold, but the light that is held in your heart. To those who hold a preferred belief, work within that organization, whether priest, rabbi, or minister; to those who are seeking know that the paths are many, but the light is One.
