Thanks, Nighthawk. You should get at least one pair for the sake of classieness.

Agreed. I want a red pair to go with my Clergy tartan kilt. I think the hot and cold color combination would look good, based on Ron's pictures of his Antarctica tartan with red hose.

Ron's idea, as I remember it, was to get an "ancient red" (which is basically an orange color) to bring out the orange stripe in his Antartica tartan.

I remember that a little; don't know much about it, though.
The Clergy tartan is black white and blue if I remember correctly. Red isn't a color I can wear a lot of. If I were wearing that tartan, I would either go with navy blue or maybe black, maybe dark gray... Guess it would depend on the color of the jacket, but those are the colors that are safe for me. Nighthawk probably can wear red.

Sharp turnout there Ted.
Gotta tell you, I screwed up a LOT of pairs of regular $20 wool kilt hose. Even hand washing seems to challenge some. Had lots of different brands that I assume were from different hosiery mills.
Still it was a big deal to fork out $50 for a "pair of sox" when I bought my first pair of Lewis Kilt Hose from STM.
But dang, once they arrived the quality is so obvious by comparison there's just no arguing the value. So, of course I'm also a gutter kilt accessories addict - but I've had not problem purchasing another 21 pairs...because the solid value is there.
Don't know how anyone justifies purchasing TWO pair of "Orange" $50 kilt hose...but I have, did, and am pleased with them and all the other colors...
My kilt hose headaches are gone. I wear them with pride knowing how sharp they look.
Only thing for me....even though they're supposed to be machine washable I chose to hand wash them...just me....baby them...
So, be warned kilt junkies...if you buy one pair of these you'll be back for more.
Ted, you're doomed....but its a proud doom...

Thanks Riverkilt. I'll probably hand wash them too.
They do complete the out fit in a classy way. The cuff is just beutifully designed.

Those look awesome, I'm going to be saving for a pair of those to go with my Clarke. And Ted - I keep running across the photos of you in the brown corduroy jacket and daywear - looking very sharp!
