That's absolutley true. It's anyways a great kilt for me, and I will continue to wear it and be proud of being the only one with enough guts to wear a kilt.

I bought a JM kilt for a friend. ( £75 )
I can confirm that is is approx. 5 yards of worsted wool. I felt it and it's near-identical to my casual kilt made by Balmoral bought through Scotweb.
The exceptions are the the buckles + stitching. My Balmoral buckles and straps are pewter and leather. They are attractive but discreet.
His buckles are stout, but by no means attractive. and stick out.
For the stitching, Balmoral claims to use a combo of machine and hand stitching. JM is just machine.
