    That is so cool!

My story isn't quite the same, but it's the closest I have so far. The group of folks I train with for Highland Games... there's a gal who sometimes comes out, who I chat with. We were talking about the website for Highland Games Athletics and she only just joined... at the time, I was still lurking (I wasn't throwing yet, I started throwing shortly after, so I didn't think joining the board yet would have made much sense since my hubby was the one training).

Anyway, I told her how I found the board -- it was listed in a stuck thread here at XMTS. She'd heard of XMTS! I don't remember if she said whether or not she was a member, but I thought it was neat that she knew what I was talking about.

I did want to ask someone else if he was on the board. I took one SCD lesson (I need to go back when things get a little more settled for me) and the teacher was making a joke... I think he was talking about where you're supposed to end up after certain movements and he said "X marks the scot" and laughed while everyone else groaned. Now, he could have just been making a pun, but Christopher and I snapped our heads up and wondered if he was a member of the board. I should have asked, you never know!

Again, great story! I look forward to meeting members out in public sometime, especially while traveling! How awesome

I met an Xmarker at a toll-road plaza. I wasn't kilted, but he was easy to recognize since he was wearing a Xmarks tartan kilt.

Excellent, x-marks is getting bigger or the world is getting smaller as more members chance upon one another.
I met Nervous Jock in similar circumstances - he was doing a presentation for the army and spotted my kilt and asked me if I was an x-marker.

Visited with Matt today, Had a nice time going through the Museum, as well as meeting Matt, though he really wanted to twist my arm on a clearance kilt in the Moffitt tartan. (One of these days....)

Only went toward Asheville to catch 40 back to Seviersville. We may head over to Black Mountain to visit Song of the Wood, but we have not decided as yet. (We stayed in Black Mountain 8 years ago, and loved his shop, Hammered Dulcimers and other great instruments.)

Until now I had only met xmarkers at highland games, Franklins taste of Scotland and kilt kamp. So it was great to meet Mark and his wife in Krogers car park.

I had just returned from a month in England visiting family and was just getting a few essentials in to tide us over till we did a big shop, and there was this kilted gent and his wife in the car park.

If you do come back to this area Mark, PM me, my wife and I would welcome you both round for a chat and an English cream tea, and there is always a beer in the fridge and a single malt in the cupboard, if they are your want. I only live a few minutes from Krogers.

    Peter
