I tried to take some better photos of the Burns print, here they are for anyone interested.

Primarily this is what I'd like the framers to fix, I'd like to get these spacers out before they discolour the matte.

Nice print. Only one thing wrong with it. It's not mine. That is a charming print! I'd definitely have it removed from the frame and have everything cleaned and put back together. I can't tell from the photos, but if that is the original glass tell your framer to be careful and put it back in. The option would be to replace it with museum glass (UV reflective) but that stuff is expensive.
Oh. And one other thing. While you have the print out, take it to a printer, have it professionally scanned, and run off 100 copies. I'd think there'd be some interest in them at about $25 a pop here on X Marks the Scot. Check with Tommy Hunt about the technical specs required for quality reproductions.

Thanks
As I have been in the Advertising/Printing business for lo these 20 years I think I've got the quality reproductions route down, however this one, and any copies will stay with me. There is something special about it being handed down the way it has and making it from Scotland to Canada close to 60 years ago.

A very attractive print, it has me feeling very homesick just now as my parents live a short walk from those bridges.

Great shirt! My younger sister gave me a Stewart RR McIan MacArthur Print last year for Christmas. She bought it from a gentleman in Scotland and put all of his information and address in a small envelope behind the frame. It was a nice touch.
The Burns print is wonderful. I had my Fraser highlander reframed into what the framer called an "Estate Frame". It looks gilded, but the frame is not as thick and much more inexpensive. I opted not to have it matted as when the original matte was removed we discovered that there was a small history about both the print and the Fraser Highlanders.
Thanks for sharing such wonderful items!
