I like the vest and the length and cut seem right for a kilt.

I think that'd look amazing with the Weathered Mackenzie!

I will concur that the weathered MacKenzie would be perfect. However I AM partial to MacKenzie tartans.

I asked for this one for Christmas (and I'm pretty sure it's hidden away here in the house someplace!):

Very nice vest. I too think that it will work fine with your kilt. The length seems to be perfect. Wah Maker surely does make some fine stuff. I wish that my Filson wool vest was a little shorter, I think it may be a bit too long to wear with my kilt, but perhapse I'll give it a try.

Has an Irish/Celtic look to it for sure.
I wear many Wah Maker western shirts with my kilts for the same reason. For me the best ones are the plain looking western shirts, not the fancy ones with snaps and cowboy yokes. With Cowboy action shooting being so big there are a lot of styles to choose from. Bought most of mine from Wild West Mercantile in Apache Junction, AZ. Huge store. They're on line too.

I like the vest. It's just the right length and it's probably warm.

The vest looks good. It should go well with many tartans.

I'm pretty sure a straight bottomed vest is the correct vest to wear with a kilt. I saw a pic recently of Prince Charles in a kilt with tweed coat and vest, and the vest was straight bottomed.
I too am a frequent customer of Wild West Mercantile. I've been wearing old fashioned western wear to the office for many years (including the cowboy cuffs) and have a bunch of 4 pocket cowboy vests. I've worn my green one with my Donegal tartan, it goes really well.
J. Charles Thompson's book says if your wearing a vest with a pointed bottom, you should tuck the points into the belt.

The vest looks great, espeically--as stated so eloquently above--with the weathered MacKenzie. I have a Weathered Robertson that is almost identical (the spacing of the white and red stripes are different.) If you add a nice, plain shirt (like Ron, I like the palin old cowboy styles with roomy sleeves), you'll be among the best-dressed.
The only thing I would add is that a brown sporran (if you have one) would look best, especially for casual day wear. You can see in the SWK photo how good it looks.
And, Standard, you can always tuck the bototm of the vest into your kilt if you think it too long. For causaly wear, you can probably wear a belt and a vest (a big no-no with the dressier look of an Argyl or a PC, but not so with very casual looks.) You'll have to tinker with the entire ensemble to see what works.
