Had a young woman once ask if she could slide her hand up my kilt to see what was underneath. Told her she could, but only if I got the same priviledge with her. Sadly, she wouldn't accept the offer....
I once got lucky with this response and got to skirt check a young inebriated Irish lady.
Such is the power of the kilt!

What a lovely compliment...I should be so lucky....but then I'm too lonely to worry about the appropriateness of it all...."Hi honey, what's your name?"

Sounds like there's a promise in that declaration.

Och, grett!
Now I've got these images stuck in my head of kilted men striding slo-mo to Isaac Hayes' Shaft theme, while a growing legion of hungry, fixated, swoonish women fall in behind to follow them.
Sounds like one of those hilarious William Lawson's scotch ads, don't it?
Well, it's not my fault . . the Cowboy's to blame!

It can go the wrong way, too.
I was at a pub and a not-so-attractive drunk woman started to push her hand up my kilt while I was eating a hamburger at the bar. I was kind about it, but I had to brush her hand away to get her to stop. She then let go with a bunch of invectives. Thankfully, she didn't yell them.

It used to be very common for men to do the much the same thing to women with impunity (except for being slapped around the face). Sadly, this came to an end when I was only 15, somewhere around the jurassic period. If the girls I went to school with should ever encounter me in a kilt I wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they slid a hand up my kilt and I tried to complain! Of course, they would be a little old now to call them girls, really.
For those to young to remember such times, I commiserate.

No... I don't remember anything like that.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
