You know, this jarred a memorie from Christmas of last year. I was over at my mother's house, wearing a kilt of course, and my step father told me that I would be cold in the kilt. I almost decided to try to explain, but he made it easy. He said he would never ever wear a kilt before I could go on.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I always politely reply that:
"Actually wool is very warm and you don't radiate a lot of heat from your knees. If you think about it, kilts must be fairly comfortable in cold weather as the Highlands of Scotland aren't particularly balmy"

Actual recent conversation:
Q: "Is it warm [down] there?" {already has an idea about it}
Me: "Yes, it is. You wanna come in?"
{Laughter ensues}

My business partner is coming in from Reno for the weekend, and is excited to wear his kilt (his wife has forbidden it at home). He did ask if it was going to be too cold to wear it, though. I asked him if he didn't think kilts were warm. He said he didn't know. I mentioned that Scotland is not known for it's tropical weather, and that we'd be fine. He told me he wasn't Scottish. I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry.

Get pics. Otherwise, the wife will never change her view. I am still surprised how much my wife has changed her mind.

Well, in fact, yesterday I had to say "yes, I am."
But that was because I went to work without a jacket. What was I thinking?

What is this "cold" you speak of?

Yah, Red...c'mon back up here to Chicago for another kilt night at the Dukes...in January! I'll use my influence to get them to open the beer garden back up just for you.
Best
