Bum knee
As the old joke goes I have one knee at the vet where they are doing everything they can and the other is up on the roof and it will not come down. I understand your plight. My problem is no one told me that I was going to trade 6 years of glory for a lifetime of misery. If they did how many of us would pick up a foottball? I am going to my orthopod tomorrow and point at the worst one and tell him to fix it, by fair means or foul I no longer care lame SUCKS I will probably leave with a date to get a bright new tin knee and join the throng of people who say why did I wait so long.

Nulty, I feel for you.....just can't reach. I had my knee scoped in the early '80's but the Dr said he couldn't do anything for it. One of the interior ligaments was stretched to about twice the proper length. So, I've been excersizing properly since then to use other muscles to support it till it breaks. My plan is to not let it happen. Now, my thumbs are another story. Apparently there is no cartilage in either one. Hurts like !#$^@$%& when it's cold out and my wife says I've lost my grip.

Ouch! I sympathize; I've torn tendons in both of my knees, and the doctor says I can't afford to lose any more or else it'll be surgery. The last time, I slipped on the ice, and spent 3 weeks on crutches, and they gave me some sort of Percocet for the pain, but it put me to sleep within 15 minutes.

Nulty,
Get well soon, I will enjoy your posts here. I feel for you, some twemnty-five years a go I blew up my left knee. The doctors drained all kinds of nasty stuff out and did some orthoscopic surgery to it. I had crutches, but found them too hard to deal with. Walked on it right away and kept up my exercise routine, and my work was a lot of exercise back then. Doc pitched a real fit when I told her what I was doing. After the pictures were taken, she calmed down. My muscles were in good condition and kept my knee more stable than I could have done with the wrap and crutches. All healed well, except that the knee advises me of bad weather about two days in advance... Now that I am old, I am sure I could not get away with that approach.
I hope yours heals quickly and in better shape than it was before.

If it makes you feel better, tomorrow is my wife's first day back from break, her department still doesn't have a class list, and the school decided not to order the class sets of the books they were going to teach. Unlike the math department, where they know what math they will get to use, the English department has no direction because of the last minute canceling of their books, by the school.

So, I'm laying here at home kilted with my knee propped up and properly iced down, taking some really good perscription drugs for pain wondering what I can do for the next two days laid-up at home. I had to get a sub for classes and am worried about how things are going, is she/he covering the material properly and how much re-teaching I'll have to do when I get back...SO I had to do something to get my mind off of school. Simple solution...X-Marks! I resolved to try to post a thread or comment to as many of the areas on the forum as possible. If I start to get foggy and incoherrent from the Vicodin I'll stop, take a nap, and resume. It is amazing how confined you feel when trying to navigate your own home using crutches. It was a bear trying to get my hose on this morning. Oh well, here goes.

At my age, I have enough aches to share a few, but I guess you don't need any more, so I'll send them somewhere else.![Twisted Evil](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
Do what the Doc sez, no sense in prolonging the agony, which doing too much too soon will. Hope things get better soon.
