Looks great actually.
Cessna152towser posted a pic of similar kilts on a Christmas in Scotland thread recently. If I were getting Black Stewart that's how I'd prefer it.

I have a Black Stewart kilted to the stripe as well, but I chose the narrow blue stripe. From the back, my kilt looks mostly black and shows flashes of red.
That's one of the mysteries of pleating to the stripe. You can really change the look of the kilt by which stripe you choose.

It looks very much like my that I made. But I had to leave a bit of black on pleats, while I had only 6m of material to work with.
I like the breeze between my knees

Be cautious. This kilt has no taper from fell to waist. When you sew the pleats down in that area you'll probably find that it becomes too tight across your rear. You can ease the edges out a bit (creating taper from the waist down as it were) but repressing may be necessary. I'd suggest testing on the first five or so pleats on one side before investing the time to do them all...you may decide to just leave it as is.

I would like to see a pic of this as well. I Have the 8 yards of the Stewart Black purchased, and have not decided how to knife pleate it yet. Having seed the red stripes. I'd like to see an example of it pleated to the blue stripe.

Personally I don't like the contrast between the front and back of the kilt. It doesn't work for me.
The Kilt is my delight !
