I'm not generally a fan of the non-matching waistband, but I really like it here! It gives a nice contrast.
The kilt looks fantastic, and I like the pleating as well.
Dunno if this sort of thing bothers you, and as it won't be noticible to anyone... ever, you may ignore it But the Shoulder title Australia is a little off center compared to the cap badge That sort of thing catches my eye, but it won't be noticeable at a glance when it's actually being worn.

That sort of thing does bother me, in fact it bothers me alot. I am a habitual picture straightener.
I just pinned the badge and title on quickly for the picture. They looked OK at the time but the picture really does tell no lies as you've pointed out. You'll be pleased to know they have now been re-applied and are straight. I even measured them into the square in the sett for greater accuracy.

Haha I got a big laugh out of this. Mainly because I'm the exact same way. I am indeed happy, and, although this isn't common practice on these boards, I won't bother demanding pictures for proof ;)

It is important that we do get these things right. Just occured to me though that I'm going to have to take them out again to press the kilt. Aaaah well...

Nice spot of research, well done. It is amazing what one can find out if you continue to ask a question untill you GET an answer.
At least you know where to replace them now

Great story and great-looking kilt. It will most certainly be worth the wait (he says, now in the seventh week of waiting for his latest eBay score to arrive from Scotland via lorrie, pram, ox-cart, motor vessel, and USPS).

The Australian National Kilt arrived on Thursday 29 Jan. Unfortunately I'm away from home because of work at the minute but I should be back Tuesday. I'll post pictures after that.
Apparently the Kilt needs some tender care so depending on the condition of it I might run a photo rescue-log to include hand washing and drip drying. I'm sure that would be useful to some, probably me included.
Can't wait to get home...
