The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.

That's a good thing. Well, not necessarily for you, but for him. For him to die, what, 9 days, just over a week, after his wife shows how much he loved her. You'll live, you've grown up to an adult. While it is hard now, I believe that ten years from now, you'll look back on his death with a level of content that you may not be able to believe right now, as you tell your children, or perhaps their children, that your dad so loved your mom that when she passed on he quickly joined her. That is a kind of love that seems so rare anymore.
There is a difference in doing that when your kids are still kids, and when they have become adults. When the kids are still kids, you have to remain to make sure they grow up all right, but once they are grown up, you know you did your best, and can rest knowing such.

I can't begin to imagine how you're feeling, but let me tell you I'll be praying for you.
If I may offer a suggestion that might help: get a notebook and write down the stories your parents told, even if they don't seem very important. One day it will be a prized possession, to be passed down through succeeding generations.

Perhaps not.
I don't pretend to know how you feel, nor do I have any wise words. But I am so sorry to hear of your loss, and I shall keep you in my prayers.

May their memory be eternal.
Our deepest sympathies to you. I suspect that, while things can indeed get worse, they will get better in the coming year.
May God richly bless you during this time of grief.
