I could buy a few SWKs for the price of a USAK (after paying the extra for flashes) but that doesn't make the SWK better. It won't be long and I will need to 'fix' a few pleats on my newer SWK, because of my big rear end. I knew that though before I bought my newer SWK. Of course, I just spent all my savings on a new microwave, so I can only afford a new SWK for my 4yo son, and thats it.
Though I do wish Rocky did box pleats, but I digress.

If you want a "real", personally-tailored-to-fit-your-measurements EXCELLENTLY constructed, beautiful kilt, go to Rocky and Kelly without a doubt...PLUS, their service is second to none.
I always read with interest the rave reviews about USA kilts; now I have joined the ranks of one who LOVES their top-notch, high quality, AMAZING, can't-be-beat kilts.
Once I got my hands on a USAK (35th birthday present), I was hooked! I sold off all of my acrylics and added some birthday present promises to get a few more kilts from Rocky and Kelly.
REPEAT: YOU CAN'T go wrong with USAK. Hand-tailored, made in America, personal contct with the actual owner and maker, SUPERIOR QUALITY...what more can be said?
I am now the proud owner of a USAK Isle of Skye (the place from which my ancestors came), am getting a German Heritage (in honor of my best friend, "the German nun" who recently passed away...she never made fun of my kilts and pipes and drums and actually loved them and encouraged them!), and am getting one American Heritage (because it is a lovely tartan and I can wear it when I march with the color guard). These will probably be my last ever kilt purchases, but a few amazing kilts are, well, AMAZING!
Thanks, Rocky and Kelly!!!

I own two USA Kilts on opposite ends of the formality scale, and I consider both of them quality products in their own right. In my estimation, the USAK semi-trad is in the middle of that scale. I saw one on WhoDeySchenk once, and it made me want one for myself. I would (and do) recommend the company to anyone looking for a range of affordable choices.

Rex.

My first encounter with Rocky and Kelly was when I was in AmeriCorps VISTA and wanted to go out for my birthday - met up with them and a few more xmarks-ers for a kilt night. Started talking with them, decided I would buy a new kilt from them. That was 2005, since then I own one Semi-Trad, 1 Casual kilt, 1 Casual off the rack kilt, and they are making my Wedding Kilt package. The other kilts I accumulated throughout the years I've traded or sold, but they are still my go-to people for kilts. Plus, they are fun people to hang out with and know where the best music is playing in the PA area.

I've owned a Semi-Traditional Ireland's National for about a year now and love it. It is my first kilt so I don't have a lot to compare to, but it has encouraged my to continue to purchase additional kilts. I'm ready to move up to bigger and better ones!
I decided on the Semi as it was a tailored kilt and not one off the shelf. The PV has a good look and feel and passes for wool. I thought the cost was most reasonable for a first kilt. It gave me the opportunity to find that I really do enjoy wearing them without spending $500+. Now I'm willing to start my collection!
