BeauTies, Ltd in Vermont has a wide selection of bow ties, with solids of many colors. Some are solid, plain, while others have woven patterns. I have a black and silver strip which is very dressy with my PC and wing collar shirt, and I have a green with woven texture which is an exact match for my bottle green Braemar jacket. They aren't the cheapest bow ties on the market, but their quality is superb.

    My opinion FWIW...

Black bow tie OR a solild colored bow tie (red, green, blue, etc). IF you choose a colored bow tie, the color MUST be present in the kilt.

This might just be me. My tartan actually looks great in a bow tie. Just because I like to be "just a little special", I try to avoid the "uniform" look of the black bow tie. Go with another color, match a stripe in your kilt's tartan.

Now, look at my avatar, I could choose green, blue, white, or purple. I, however, would just get a tartan bow tie, when tied, each bow has a bit of green, blue, and has the white stripe bisecting it. It looks great.

But take this with a grain of salt, I don't actually reach for the bow tie, I prefer the cravat and argyle for formal occasions.

Jeez Louise...no one told me this before I ordered my PC...okay...more accessories...

So, where do you find those funny collared shirts that stand up so the band of the tie shows and they have those funny turn down tips on the end of the collar front? Or, what's the name of them to google up?

    Thanks...

You can buy them, complete with tie, at your local JC Penny's.

    Thanks guys,

I'll probably need to do it on line. My nearest J.C. Penny's is 145 miles away across the Arizona Strip in St. George, Utah....might be one down in Flagstaff too, that's a few miles closer.

A PC with bow tie in the canyonlands....hope it doesn't look too silly.
