To help you appreciate your savings, I paid $511 two years ago for my Isle of Skye to be hand sewn from 16 ounce Lochcarron Strome.

I got mine from the same deal at Scottishkilts and it is 16oz fabric, although no way to tell if it is Lochcarron or Marton Mills Jura. Both have a rapier cut tuck in selvedge. When I wrote them to ask I got no reply, so I just gave up---by then I already had the kilt. There are no tags inside which would verify it being Lochcarron, and I have heard that they usually send such a fabric tag with their fabrics for inclusion during the kilt build up, so probably reasonable to assume it is Marton Mills Jura Range.

Think any kiltmaker would add the Lochacarron label if it were their fabric. Thanks for that info.
