    From Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

It could be that the sporran is too low as Matt has said, it could also be that the sporran is too tight.

    from South Wales UK!

Kilt measurements don't work the same as those for other garments such as trousers.

waist: 18" apron and 18" pleats

hips: 18.5" apron and 19.5" pleats

Should work fine and still give you a little shaping into the small of your back.

From the Cape Fear River Valley, NC It is quite possible to have a hip measurement close to waist, and not have a "German Goiter (an my wife calls them). I too am a "buttless wonder" with only a 4" (10 cm) difference.

Good evening and welcome from the Western Slope! I just sort of cinch in my sporran belt and wear it higher than most. It usually sits 1-2 fingers below my belt. Got the same gut problem as you.

My sporran is suspended from my belt by two sporran hangers.

Sorry, but so often in these hanger pics I see the sporran dragging the belt WAY down. If you're going to use straps, then the belt needs to be cinched tighter or the sporran starts banging your knees.
