If I counted correctly, the score was: Brooster 8, Son 1 (he came around in the end). You son was also a winner in this one.

    The joys of parenthood!

You might even get him into a kilt if he knows that Katys reaction is a typical one

Ah the power of the kilt

Sounds like a great day! As the father of 2 girls, 14 and 22, who are pretty much of the opinion that their dad is a bit of an odd ball and will do anything to embarass them, I could related. But I actually got a little misty with the story about the guy that new your dad in Germany...How cool is that?

Well on. Perhaps your son may decide to like wearing the kilt around the lasses.

    That's a great story Brooster.

One of my Boys, David, is 17 and a Bass Player in a local Rock/Punk band. He says to me the other day that Dan the Drummer and him have decided to make their own MC Hammer Pants (Doo Doo Doo Do... Doo Do... Doo Do... U can't touch this!... Hammer Time!)

They have. They've made them out of light cotton. They are very, very voluminous, yellow (predominantly) and with a red criss cross stripe. They wear them to college and when they're out and about round town. Couple of days ago he says to me (and I para-phrase).

"Dad, I think I've worked out why you wear a Kilt"
    "Why's that son?"
"Some people have some serious clothing issues don't they. It's good to push their boundries though."
"Well, I wear a kilt 'cause I like wearing kilts but I know what you mean..."

He always thought I was a bit of a nutter before donning his 'big' trousers.

Don't want to detract from your thread mate so I'll post their myspace address in off topic if anyone want's a listen to what his band is doing.
