well it was his labor of love, I was teaching him how to make them. I figure he needs to learn some profession, if he gets good he can go into any number of fields. I helped with some of the harder areas like the zipper, but he did most of the work. not bad for 14 yrs old, and learning. I even taught him how to modify the pattern, since we couldn't find a good pattern for mens pants.

Not at all bad for sheets, they look to be about the right size and shape for the wearer too, so well modified.

I am not at all sure if it is the correct way to do things - but when I make trousers or shorts from a patterned fabric which has a sequence of bands, I turn one half through 180 degrees, and match up the pattern so that the two legs are mirror images and the bands form chevrons at the seams. Sometimes I have to cut the pieces singly rather than as doubled fabric, just to be sure I am making the correct side and the right way up - but then I do have mild dyslexia which can result in much confusion with anything handed.

Being self taught I can only go by what I think looks right, so I leave it to your own obvious good taste to see if you like the idea of that.

yeah I was trying to get the horizontal bands lined up, I'll get to both horizontal and vertical on the next pair. it was difficult cause there was not a symmetrical pattern in the plaid. it was asymmetrical so when you turned it it didn't match.
