It's tough to swallow now, but it wasn't then for all of us "Bigger" around the middle Kilters.

I don't have any trouble with wearing the kilt that high; it's the number...the ghastly number... the inordinately large number which I must now say is my 'waist'.
--Quite a jump!
PLEASE do not remind me of the NUMBER !?!?!?!?! THE HORROR !!!!!

There is a comfort angle here. Whilst a generous yardage worn at natural waist might look best, it's not the most comfortable. When relaxing, those acres of material can get in the way.
I wear at natural waist when out and about, but wear a correspondingly shorter kilt at jeans waist when lounging around at home.
I read somewhere that as they reach the onset of old age :crap: men (and women) begin to redevelop a baby shape.
Nothing to do with overweight.
Garment waists are then most comfortably worn either above or below the belly.
Yeah it’s tough aging.
Better than the alternative though.
I was just looking at the standard drops on the Sport Kilt line. They appear to be set up for the jean's waist rather than the true waist. Something to keep in mind.
