I wonder what will be next... It's got me looking through the junk drawers for things that might work.
Although, anything found in the junk drawer probably won't be useful.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

That's a really good idea... unfortunately, it's only useful to those of you who still have a significant amount of hair.

If you make one, why not two I'll buy the second off you. I have no talent for manufacturing or modifying things.

You did it very nicely. By the way, did you use any adhesive for aluminum foil?

Mipi,
The aluminum I used is a tape with adhesive already on it. It is used by Heating & Air Conditioning installers to seal ductwork. Their pet name for it is liquid ducting because it molds to almost any shape and stays put.
This is the real Duct Tape. You can find it in your hardware store.
I simply cut off a small piece, placed it on the carved design and pressed it into place first with my fingernail and then with a matchstick. I used an old trick from metal shop and rubbed the matchstick on a candle to wax it and then burnished the metal into shape polishing as I went.
No, it won't last forever. No, it's not a permanent thing or meant to be sold. I just wanted to dress up the plastic handle I was using.

I was kind of expecting a shoe with a sgian dubh built into it (in the style of Get Smart or any good spy movie).

I was thinking the same thing!
Great job though Steve. It's nice to have a collection of items for one's hose-top to keep up appreances when a blade might not be prudent.

I really like the one with the handle and the sheath, no blade. One of the things I hate about a regular sgian dubh is that it's so heavy that it pull your socks down when you're marching in a parade. I'll have to try that!!
