    I'd go with the navy blue hose and black leather sporran as it will have a more "uniform" look when worn with your American Legion shirt, etc.

    I personally wouldn't wear the combat boots with the outfit; I'd go with a polished Oxford shoe of some sort. I think boots look great with a casual look with the hose scrunched down and no flashes, but with a tie and the rest I just think they'd look odd. You'll notice in Ron's pictures that the kilted office has his hose turned down over the boots (he shouldn't be wearing the flashes with that, though). [Ron doesn't but a) he's wearing an Ike jacket and a steel pot and b) he's Ron ]

    If you *are* participating with a color guard/honor party, then the boots might work better.
