I too like the tartan. The red vest on the picture you found on real men doen't do the tartan justice.

    That's rather interesting !

If all of you folks could order a few yards of this Norman tartan so that your own favorite kiltmakers can make a kilt out of it for you , now that would certainly put some pressure on the "embargo" imposed by the only place in the world that sells it...

Argghh! I just found a pic of a kilt in it on "realmen". It looks like hammered doggidudu.
    This one?

Not my colors, but no worse than "loud McLeod" I think.

This gentleman's name is Philippe Christian. He is the creator of the Norman Tartan.

    Bloke my friend,

I had a double meaning. I may get banned by the admins for my cheeky posts (there have been threats) and I will go back to Afghanistan this autumn as part of the Obama build-up. So definitely nowhere nice. Will be in England and France in late July/early August before I go back to hades.

    Thanks for your concern.

    Cheers, ColMac

If you're passing I live in the North West of England. Drop by if you get chance and we'll do beers. I'm around first 2 weeks in July and first 2 weeks in August. (I work away alot).

Best of luck with ops in the sandpit. My thoughts and best wishes go with you.

    Take care.

If the tartan means something to you, wear it. If you're looking for a tartan for just fashion, I would pass.

It's just me, and I don't mean to sound mean or negative. I just really don't like the color combo. Take my dissent from the main pack with a grain of salt, I just don't like the strict look of it.

But like I said, if it means something to you, then wear it!

Alas, the expense has discouraged me. Perhaps some day. In the meantime the Cameron Black & Red is looking very good to me.
    Thanks everybody!
