No problem at all Ali. Just tell him,in your most persuasive female way, that in one part of the world the traditional tartan kilt is repected by nearly all its female inhabitants.Oh and the men too! Then present him with his new kilt, sporran, hose, brogues, tie, argyll jacket and waist coat.

Going to Highland games & gatherings and seeing all the good looking fellas in swishing kilts often makes one feel VERY lonely in his throusers.
Then you buy a kilt and sporran "of the rack" to start with, and spend an excellent day at the Highland games among the other kilted gentlemen with every one glancing at you in admiration... THAT is generaly a non-return point in ones' life.
Best,

The folks here come up with great answers to those questions people (of restricted movement) will ask. That can be a lot of fun! Stand tall with him. After one or two days in a kilt and it will be natural.

She doesn't have to do that- all she has to do is divorce him and move to colorado. I'm right here! Seriously- my take on this is that if he doesn't feel comfortable with it, there is no way of persuading him. I think it has to be an internal, personal choice. But then again, I am the fiercely independant sort. Case in point is a couple I ran into at the St Patrick's Day parade here in Denver. The lady looked me up and down and said to the guy she was with "Wow, he looks great in his kilt! You should have worn yours!" The guy just mumbled something, so I answered "Yes I do, and yes you should have!" I gave the kind lady a wink and walked on. Point is, you have to be very secure with yourself to do anything that breaks social norms.
Oh... and Denver is not as far from Utah as Scotland.

Nighthawk is married to Mrs. Nighthawk, and she's way closer than Utah.

Ali, just tell him it is a chick magnet. He will love the attention and you will see a new, confidant man.

#1: My wife COMPLETELY surprised me by giving me not one, but two kilts for my birthday last summer. Wearing a kilt had never, ever crossed my mind, and she had no idea what I would think or how I would respond. 7 months later... I have 14 kilts! So, a word to the wise: by nudging your husband into wearing the kilt you may be creating a monster!
#2: They'll either get used to the kilt or they won't. If they're open minded, they'll come around.
Good luck!

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Of course, if you lead a thirsty horse.....
