It's amazing the talent that lurks in the most unassuming places. As McClef pointed out, her story is similar to Paul Potts from a few years ago. I hope she does well in the contest.

My wife already has her on the mp3 player, can't blame her, you don't run across talent like that often.

I'm run a theatre and am a presenter... there's a point in the video when she hits an emotional peak and the audience spontaneously rises to its feet...you don't usually see that in the middle of a song. She's got a shot... and not primarily because of her voice, which is quite good, but not fabulous.

Her voice is not what's going to make her stand out. She stands out because she's genuine and the audience can feel that... her emotions were right there and real... not something "produced" by a team of designers and marketers. Some much of the polished stuff we see is totally artificial... she's a breath of fresh air!

This is much more obvious if you listen to her on audio only

Thanks for pointing this out; I agree it's a "must read".

Really says something about this modern society we live in; even the looks issue. Well she took advantage of it, she seems to really enjoy it and that is what counts. Another important thing comes from Scotland. Bravo. I don't care for or watch those shows but this little lady shows she's great; knows she's great. And Pebbles will get some good attention too. I like it.

The show was repeated here on ITV2 earlier this evening so was able to relive it all over again on my 52" screen and surround sound system.
