While in the US Air Force in I was stationed near Newbury, England, immediately east of the Salisbury plain which borders Wales. I too had a favorite pub, The Rose & Crown. Even at my then young age of 19y/o, I appreciated the warm and sincere, and at times raucous, atmosphere of "my" pub. Even though the locals referred to the American Revolutionary War as "the war" and that I was obviously a "yank", they always treated me cordially. All things considered, American "pubs" simply can not compare to the real thing. Cheers!

We could use a fire in the house here with the cold wet snowy weather we are still getting here.

Great news to hear that the folk music night is drawing new people and that many loyal fans continue to return.

When I worked in a pub in Winnipeg, I used to buy a pint for those who came to the pub I worked in a kilt. The Cameron Rgt. burned a hole in my sporran some nights!
