If anyone gives you a hard time holding your wife's purse in a Lowes parking lot while kilted tell them,"Careful, I've got a nail gun in here!" Well done for the first time out kilted. It does get better and easier.

Better advice was never given. Me- I have no issues with it. I'm 290, almost 6ft tall, long hair, goatee... If you want to get beaten by a man in a skirt carrying a purse... well, bring it on...
Anyways- sounds like a great first outing. Welcome to the addiction!

Thanks all. It was a great first experience, and there will be many more to come.
The whole time I was there I was thinking of somebody's post from here about the first time being a "baptisim by fire"....
I got the workman dirty putting the benches together, so it's on the waiting list for wash day..
hehe "...getting beat up by a guy in a kilt carrying a purse..." that's too cool..
The next challenge is taking it back home for a little family reunion....I'm more nervous about that than wearing it to Lowe's or Wal-Mart. The folks are a bit on the straight-laced side. But, if yer gonna be a bear, ya might as well be a grizzly. We'll see..

Good luck! Seems it's harder to be kilted around those we know than it is to be kilted around those we don't. Glad you had an overall positive experience. Kilt on!
