    One Handle or Two?

If this is a single-handled faucet, you may have reversed the whole unit (valve handle rotated 180 degrees). They don't work in this position at all.

Don't know if this is the case, but all I can think of.

I know you've all lost sleep over this. I can't let that happen two nights in a row.

I got up this morning, went into the kitchen and turned the water on. It worked just fien -- no hesitation, no thumps, nothing. Just water. And making it even better, no leaks anywhere. In a weird way, it was a good way to start the day.

Thanks to all for your advice!
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Ya, it was that toggle valve, or what ever it's called, it worked itself loose. Just be thankful it wasn't a kidnystone from the waterheater.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

The kilt will definitely cure "Plumber's Crack" but introduces a host of new exposure problems!
