That should be great, again if you look at the 1 kilt 10 looks thread it should have you covered as to level of formality. I would consider using sliver buttons for the jacket, you can find them on ebay as well as other places like Highland Express

Another good source for silver buttons is Scorweb (click the logo in the top right corner here on xmarks). The "cheap" prince charlie ones are probably silver plated pewter, but they look the business and cost next to nothing (I paid more for postage than for the goods on that order )

I want to know if you finished the jacket. I saw a website that someone converted a tweed sport coat to a Braemar jacket and it looked great.
