I'm glad Hamish has stepped in and shown that photo, I have to say that his is the style emulate. loose the belt waistcoat combo, strap a sporran around your waist and wear some flashes to compliment your tie and you are good to go.

I would wear one, for no other reason, than for modesty issues.. It's just something I feel is necessary..

I would go with the sporran. I don't think a kilt apron looks right without one.

I would also take all of Hamish's advice as well. With it you would have a flawless look.

Because of my prejudice against black hose, I would suggest that you try some in the steel grey of the suit itself. Also, what sort of lapels do you have on it? My assumption was a traditional lapel, but it looks like you have more of a military / mandarin / nehru collar, as frequently worn by James Bond villains. How does it look buttoned up entirely? Can we have a shot of that sometime, just for further discussion? I think a sporran is good for many reasons, but I like the idea of sleek and modern.

Lot's of great suggestions here and I'd cast a vote with the sporran as well, but a simple one with clean lines.

careful reading saves time
Or would have...
I went back to the photo. GGibby has kindly provided a link to the jacket his jacket is based on http://www.slaters.co.uk/en/store/pr...language=en-GB
The mannequin photo makes things a little clearer, probably because we aren't distracted by GGibby's mesmerizing gaze... I don't think I would follow Slaters' example for the sporran though- try to find something rectangular and modern and matte black. They ( Slater's) offer a couple of noteworthy and different jacket designs. Thanks for bringing them to our attention, GGibby.
You take the high road, or maybe the low road,
