Well I saw the picture and read all the way to the end and am now really intrigued about that mystery purchase.

I re-looked at the picture to see if there was a clue in the remaining stock; I used photoshop and that thing it does to check out all the colours; re-read the whole of your post (twice), but I was stumped.

Red and Heavy, heavy and red. Nothing.

Then in a flash of inspiration it came to me -

    You've bought a housebrick!

I am amazed by own genius at times. I can hardly wait for the pictures.

    Regards

    Chas

Nice picture ( a rose between two thorns ). Now you've got us wondering... red and heavy, eh?

Going to have to make a pilgrimage to that place soon!

If Matt always greets Xmarkers, I really MUST make the journey. It is on my agenda for the future, but may be sooner.

You caught that way to fast . After I posted I found Jonesville, but I don't think Matt would want to move the museum....

It seems as Mr. Newsome met with a few X-Markers on Friday. My family made the drive to Franklin so I could finalize my order and have Matt double check my measurements.

I was able to meet Tyger and his lovely wife; we had a nice little chat. Tyger, it was a pleasure. You're metalwork is beautiful and I will definitely be looking for one of your buckles when the account recovers from the box pleat purchase.

The highlight of our trip was being shown through the museum by Mr. Walter Taylor. He is a fountain of information and proved to be longsuffering as my young daughter decided to have a crying spell that lasted most the tour. I would like to find the time to sit with Mr. Taylor and have an extended conversation - such a wonderful gentleman.

Sorry we missed you dbh. We were likely in the coffee shop down the block when you arrived. Perhaps there should be a banner that is flown over the museum when an X-Marker visits so we can better coordinate schedules when we are in town.

I understand your comment on Mr. Taylor, a true gentleman. Very well versed in Scot and early American history. I had the opportunity to have him give me a tour of the museum with an extended conversation afterward about a number of topics. I spent over an hour after my tour just enjoying his company.

Oh, I enjoyed my visit with you too Matt!

The Museum and Gift Shop are a wonderful place to visit- they have a broad spectrum of goods: everything you need and more.

However, the most important asset you'll discover is the staff. To a man and woman, you won't ever find more helpful and interested people who will aptly answer your questions, and talk with you about history. And give you good advise on color choices- the proverbial "what goes with what."
