I agree with skauwt. I feel like I should be sitting in the jockey club in Bay Meadows or Hollywood Park watching those different waistcoats flashing by as they head for the finish line.

And if kilted would the jockeys be riding side-saddle? I'd agree that the Saltire waistcoat does indeed look more as a jockey shirt than a flag waistcoat.

I used to have one of these a lot of years ago,

My mum made it for me and it was better than this one.

Didn't cost the best part of 90 quid either.

I'm still considering one, perhaps in leather for £50! Still I wonder if wearing a silk waistcoat with a wool kilt isn't just a little bit gauche. Would like to hear the experts on this one.

The flag lines aren't accurate. This just isn't the Union Jack !

Having only Black and Tweed waistcoats I don't know what ta say about the ones featured above. Colorful, bright, and definately for those that like them! Kilt on me brothers!

I think that they have turned the flag through 90 degrees so that it hangs vertically rather than horizontally. But even so it is not depicted correctly.

It is often drawn incorrectly like this:

All that being said it is still an impressive waistcoat.

Don't think this is correct either. If I turn my laptop upside down I can't see it showing distress.
