Personally, I do advertise what I like- I have a different Iron Maiden t shirt for every day of the week for example. I would wear that! Personally, I love it! Now if only I could afford it... Ah well, such is life.

Chas, we could all chip in...
...continuously...
and then maybe can will be able to afford it by the time of his 60th birthday
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

I have to admit that when I read the title 'whisky + kilt =' what came mind was 'all sorts of hilarity'.
Interesting tartan but I like my scenario even better. Perhaps whisky + whiskykilt + Ferintosh = well.....use your imagination.

Well thought out idea, good colors, but not something I would consider wearing. Maybe they should consider a mini-kilt version for the bar maids!
Not to hijack this thread, but something else I noticed in the photo was the belt and sporran strap both being threaded through the two loops on the back of the kilt. I've always thought that these loops were for the sporran strap only. Am I wrong?

I kinda like the idea, as a whisky collector, and may have to show this advert to the wife as a hint toward father's day---not that I really expect to get one at that price.
I agree the tartan looks like a table cloth on the apron side, or a bedspread, or even kitchen curtains. But a cute idea anyway. Not a lot of places I would probably want to wear that one out and about.

If it weren't so darned expensive, it would make for a good barbecuing kilt. It kinda looks like a cooking apron, and could be a dedicated kilt for grilling and drinking when you don't want to mess up a traditional kilt.
But at that price... maybe not.

On the other hand, think how much single malt £450 would buy!

I think that there is more than one issue here. Every thing we say, everything we buy, everything we wear, in fact everything we do says volumes about each of us. We judge each other initially on looks, long before we get to know a person - "first impressions count". Possibly choosing not to wear logos says more about a person than wearing them.
The other thing is price. I would wear a Guinness T shirt - if I ever saw one that was not twice the price it should be. It costs £1 to make and transport to the shop. If I pay £5, that is a reasonable profit for the vendor. Maybe £10 for a charity T Shirt. £24.95 for an ordinary T Shirt that has the Guinness logo on it - no thanks.
The same works for this kilt. I am having a tank and fly plaid made and shipped for £350. I will be able to wear it anywhere and on all occasions. This kilt costs £100 more - will I be able to wear it to church, to a funeral? I think not!
Can anybody realistically believe that they will sell hundreds of these? Dozens of these? More than 10? More than 5? Can't see it.
Regards
Chas

I agree: 450.00 GBP is just shy of 700.00 USD by today's reckoning, and that's way, way, WAY too much money to spend on something I can't wear anywhere. For that amount of money I could get Matt Newsome to make one of his awesome box pleated kilts and still have plenty of money left over to buy my wife a nice pair of earrings, which is probably the only condition under which she would let me spend that much money on a kilt in the first place! ~Ken

They get THAT much for a Guinness t-shirt over there? Wow...who needs a gun? Maybe US $9 to $20 MAX around here (and that MAX is one of the embroidered ones rather than the screen printed ones)...I can't imagine what the hoodies cost...
