I acctually just have some inexpensive host I bought on eBay. They stay up fine. I guess some hose do not.

I say either Lovat blue or dark green socks. Have you considered flashes made from the same tartan?

Lovat green with red flashes go with almost anything. If you're buying, go for the red flashes since you already have the hose.
I just haven't found much that doesn't go with this combination.

A no flashes day, not so long ago. I don't think that any one noticed.

Thanks for sharing the pics, Jock. The more I think on it, the more I like the idea of no flashes for a casual outing. I never wear them around the house, but would want the elastic garters to keep the hose up when I'm out and about.

Personally I would choose the Mustard Bowmores to go with muted MacPherson, I think they would stand out from the crowd
