Maybe the ability to stop or re-play time is part of the appeal that Doctor Who has to fathers.
That having been said...
....try being in my shoes with a 21 year old son showing up at your favorite bars and sitting next to you drinking beers (which you are paying for so that the poor starving college student can afford food).
Sons...buy your fathers a beer once in a while, eh? After all the emotion that you've put us through, we gotta be good for one lousy beer at least...
Best

Ali,
My youngest is 29 now and if memory serves me correctly, you are extremely blessed to have a 2 year old with no back talking or attitude!!!

My little devil is 4.5 now. Time does fly (although there are days where I'm willing to swear that time is either static or rewinding.)
Happy B-Day to little Axel, your baby he will be, even when he's no longer all that little.
As I tell my son, daddy will ALWAYS want a hug, no matter how old you get.

Rest assured, Ali, he will always be your baby. At 53, I am the oldest of 8 kids and there are times when my mother looks at me and I know she is seeing a small boy. We are as much friends as anything these days and we respect each other as people as well as as mother and son, but I will always be her little boy. That's just fine by me

ah, the joys and pains of parenthood. When you've done your job well, the reward is the heartbreak of having your children grow up.
Mine are now 33 and 30, and the grandchildren are 3 and 2.
So, the consolation is that I get to start over.
I know how you feel. I did it years ago.

Ali, I wish I had a secret formula for you. Enjoy this time, it goes much faster than you think. They grow up way too fast.

Are you my doppelganger? This is exactly the scene when my 21 year old son was back at Christmas break.

But yes, they will never be this age again. Take lots of pictures and video, keep a diary of even minor events, start a scrapbook for the first haircut, etc... Well said, Jeff. I feel the same way about my 2 yr. old. Thankfully we have one more chance, as our son will be arriving sometime after 7 June. ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

By the way, Ali...where's that kid's KILT?
If he expects to wear one to his prom, he better start now! We're not gonna be on here commiserating and threatening some principal via email if he's not gonna get the ball rolling now...
Love theScot's comment about grandchildren. That's exactly how I plan to get my revenge on my kilt-disparaging 21 year old son: as soon as his son is old enough, I'm going to offer to babysit and take the young 'un out and get him a kilt! I can just see the look on my son's face now...
"Look, dad...grandpa got me a real kilt...and this real cool knife to keep in the top of my sock!"
