I have both "ranger"-style leather and nylon duty belts that I use for casual kilt wear. I also have a leather belt with the fastex/side-clip buckle, but I haven't worn that with any kilts yet.

I was doing a search before posting about my Sam Browne and found this.
I also have been using a Black basket weave SB, I find one of them to be a little to stiff and uncomfortable when sitting. The other is well broke in and more supple.
Anyone know how to make one suppler (if that is a word? )

Looks good! I wear mine for 12 hours at a stretch on duty, I don't think I would want to wear it off duty.
They will last forever, though. I am only on my third one in 21 years.

Being used, mine came broken-in
Apart from just wearing it more, you can try working it with some sort of leather treatment like Dubbin or Mink oil. Apply the product, then roll the belt up tight, unroll, roll it the other way, etc.
But I'm no expert in leather... someone like Cavscout or Artificer (other members on this forum) would probably know better.

I am so glad these "older" posts are brought back to life every now and then...I had missed this one back a few months ago, and really like the idea of this style belt for casual wear. I will have to start looking for one in the brown and brass combination!

That's not bad. I once read an ebay add for a kilt that said the front was nicely pleated, and the back was flat for more sitting comfort. Sheesh!!

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
