    let me know if your sons STW kilt, pills when its washed. the one I bought for my little boy, has pilled up so bad, its not wearable any longer.

    Well, with a kilt belt, few will notice that the pleats aren't sewn down, though I've read here at Xmarks of folks that do it themselves.

    Here's where we discussed it once: Some assembly allowed.

    Just figure out how much taper from waist to hip is needed (if any---boys are often cylindrical, unlike their dads), and spread that amount among the pleats. If you have access to a copy of The Art of Kiltmaking, it'll show you exactly how to make the stitches invisible. If not, you'll be able to come pretty close. Start at the bottom of the fell, and work up to the waistband.
