Give your wife a big congratulations from us. My wife (and mother of two) just finished up her doctorate work via distance learning. I'm sure that you both had your hands full for the past several years. She should be very proud of her accomplishment!

John,
It was a pleasure to meet your lovely wife and you last year in Dumfries.
Please offer my congratulations! Quite an achievement.
Best wishes to you both.

Congratulations to your wife on her graduation and to you for putting up with the life disruptions that distance learning causes. I did my masters though the Open University so know just what dedication it takes for both marriage partners.

Thanks for sharing this special and important day! I wish I could have graduated in a setting as classic and majestic as that cathedral. You've a great looking family.

I have to say that having been there as the guest of David Dalgleish and the lovely Helen that Carlisle Cathedral is an absolutely splendid setting!

Major congratulations are in order! My mother went back to school when
I was 12, and we all had to pitch in with homework and housework and grading
papers, so I know the magnitude of such a feat. And your daughter should
know that her mom will continue to be important for years, as the students
will tell their children of the wonderful teacher they had with such a passion
for the profession.

Ditto what tripleblessed said. Being a successful wife and mother is quite a feat in itself, as is being a good husband and father. But adding in a degree and career in education? As your little girl (who is cute as a button, BTW,) said, her mom IS very important.
Send our congratulations, please. My wife has been working on a degree for a while now. It takes a lot to get it done.
