Of course... I always overthink things... Thanks!

Thanks for all the kind words. The latch and the rabbits feet were both courtesy of my local MacPherson Leather store (as is the rabbit fur and all the leather). I found the edge braiding in my copy of The Encyclopedia of Rawhide and Leather Braiding by Bruce Grant. He refers to it as Spanish edge braiding and says that it came to the American west by way of the vaqueros. I think it is a nice way to finish the edge. I HIGHLY recommend his book to anyone interested in leatherworking. I wish that I could claim the belt as my work. It is actually just a men's dress belt that I had laying around, but it works great as a sporran strap. I have not noticed any wear on my kilt from it, even when I wear it with my stillwater kilt. I would like to make a braided kilt strap at some point, but have to wait until I can get enough lacing (seeing as I suck at cutting my own). Bruce Grant's book does have instructions for making a number of different styles of braided belts.

I just realized that I posted this thread in the help section rather than the showroom. Could one of the mods please move it to the proper section?
