It really does prove that is better to be thought a fool than to open ones mouth(or in this case put it in print) and remove all doubt. Does he have no concept what the men in the old testament wore, loin cloths and tunics which certainly more closely resemble the short dresses that women wear today than anything he puts on his oh so manly attired body. I always find that its certainly better to just sprout rhetoric than to actually convey the facts and truth that happened in history.

I was looking through their list of Satanic music, and I had a hard time finding Iron Maiden! I was almost insulted that they were overlooked- and then I found them. UP THE IRONS!!

One fool spouting off uninformed speech and proclaiming that it's backed by god/God/religion or whatever else does not reflect on religion. It reflects of him. I too am an actual practicing Christian. There is a huge difference between a Christian and a false Christian.
I appologise if this turned into a religious post. I just thought " boy I wish I could meet him face to face in my KILT and school him on what the bible actually says of the matter"

I have been over this type of topic numerous times with so many people. I don’t wish to call him a fool as that is sinful and judgmental as well but he is indeed poorly informed and has no right to speak on this manner until he better educates himself. First of all, the writer misunderstands the kilt itself. It is MEN’S CLOTHING. There is nothing dainty, soft or effeminate about a real kilt. They are tough, thick, hearty garments that have a long tradition of being male in form and fashion so his argument that they are women’s clothing is nonsense. Second of all, he misuses those Bible verses towards his own ends. It saddens me that this type of closed minded hate is many people’s image of the church. The rest of us suffer because a scant few are overly vocal in their misunderstanding of not only Christianity but the world itself as scriptures apply to it. I wrote this man an email in response to his insulting article and have included it as follows.

Dear sir,

As a forward I would like to say that this letter is not ment to inflame, but to respond. Please take it as such and with an open and loving heart as a message from a brother in Christ. A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. Proverbs 15:5

I would respectfully ask that you remove the article you posted about kilts on your site. I am a devout Christian, of Scottish heritage, and have done exhaustive research on both the Biblical applications you put forth as well as kilts themselves. I find your article to be ill informed and your reasoning to be shoddy in the extreme. Some the things that you say would be downright laughable if they were not so insulting in nature. Your words are inflammatory rather than helpful and offer up a blantant misrepresentation of not only the Biblical verses but also of the kilt and the public view of the kilt as well. Bifurcated garments are an extremly recent addition to fashion historically speaking. Kilts were designed for a mans use. Kilts as we know them today are rugged and hearty garments that predate trousers by many hundreds of years and have basis in fashions that stretched back thousands of years before that. My guess (based upon the article) is you have a personally negative view of the kilt. It seems that you are closed off to cultural or personal differences that, though the Bible does not state them as sinful unless twisted and misused, you have chosen to say are sin because you yourself do not understand or wish to tolerate those differences. I believe in the word of God as given; not as interpreted or picked at by men. I do not expect a positive response from you on this matter as I have seen some of your other posts and have seen how you typically use negativity and attack rather than an approach of loving guidance. All I can say is this, I wish you well and may God bless your search for knowledge wisdom. May He give you the discernment to tell the difference between opinion and scripture. May He grant all who are of the Body to love one another as themselves and have peace between them.

I sincerely hope that he will see how coarse and cruel he has been on this and many other issues and realize that law and love must work hand in hand for Christianity to exist as Christ intended.
