Yes, Christchurch has had a hard time of it and it certainly doesn't look good, understandable the news here in NZ has been covering it almost if not 24/7.

As a member of the House of Gordon here in NZ (son of the president infact) we are concerned for our members down in Christchurch, all hope is that everyone is all ok.

Our Pipe Band will be concerned as they fly down to Timaru soon for the NZ National Pipe Band Champs and will have to land in Christchurch.

Our Prime Minister is certainly right... it is a dark day for NZ.

Thanks for your concern. I am near the airport, on the western side of the city. I have seen no damage to our place or in the area (I'm sure there is, but probably only minor). It's like the central city and the east side (as well as some other areas) are in a different world.

Good to hear that you are ok. My thoughts also goes to you and the rest of Christshurch. It's strange to think that I'm sitting here safe in the Norwegian mountains, with the only concern of how cold it will be today, when it happens so dramatic things down there with you.

Thanks for that. A friend of mine has lost a flatmate in the CTV building (which has completely collapsed).

How cold is it in Norway? Here, it's not really cold or hot. It's been quite mild most of the time this week.
